Divine Mercy Weekend 2026

DIVINE MERCY WEEKEND – April 11 & 12, 2026 Presented by the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception. For more information about our celebration, visit TheDivineMercy.org National Shrine of The Divine Mercy 413-298-3931 ShrineofDivineMercy.org

Dear Pilgrims, On behalf of the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception, welcome to the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy. We are honored to have as our main celebrant on Sunday His Excellency, the Most Reverend David L. Ricken, Bishop of the Diocese of Green Bay. In the midst of all the tribulations our world faces, we continue to joyfully place our hope in the Risen Christ who was sent by our Heavenly Father to conquer sin and death. We share the love and mercy we have received with the world by first sharing it with those closest in proximity to us: Our family, our community, and our nation (cf. CCC 1880, 2239). We also foster justice when we rightly order our duties: giving what is due to God (the virtue of religion), and giving what is due to those through whom we have received life and formation — our parents and our country (the virtue of piety, which includes what we commonly call patriotism). As the United States of America celebrates this year the 250th Anniversary of its Declaration of Independence, we recall at that same time it declared its dependence on God. During this year’s spiritual theme of “One Nation Under God’s Mercy,” we pray all Americans will turn to God and trust in Him. Just as our Lord told St. Faustina that her country, Poland, had a special place in His providential plan for the eternal salvation of mankind, we know our country has a part to play as well. But just as St. Faustina had much to suffer in praying and sacrificing for her country in order to make reparation for its great sins, we too must pray and sacrifice much for our country, whose sins are great and many. Like St. Faustina, we can throw ourselves “trustingly into the abyss of His mercy” and plunge our country in it (Diary, 1188). As grain once scattered is formed into the Bread of Life, we become united as one Body of Christ through the Eucharist. May our recognition and love of Christ in the Eucharist help us to recognize and love Christ in our neighbor — those of our nation and those of other nations. May the peace of Christ reign in your hearts today as you receive Holy Communion and are united with Christ and the Communion of Saints drawn from all nations and every generation. In Jesus and Mary Immaculate, Fr. Matthew Tomeny, MIC Rector, National Shrine of The Divine Mercy We especially wish to thank the hundreds of dedicated volunteers who return year after year, and without whose support we would be lost, as well as those who annually donate the use of their parking facilities during Mercy Weekend: Berkshire Hills Regional School District And those businesses who donate goods and services: Comalli Electric Special Thanks to: Chief Darrell Fennelly and the Stockbridge Police Department Stockbridge Emergency Management Department | Stockbridge Fire Department | Lee PD Great Barrington PD | BMC Medical Center | Fairview Hospital | Berkshire County Sheriff’s Dept. 7 LITURGY OF THE EUCHARIST OFFERTORY Guidelines for the Reception of Communion As Catholics, we fully participate in the celebration of the Eucharist when we receive Holy Communion. We are encouraged to receive Communion devoutly and frequently. In order to be properly disposed, we should not be conscious of grave sin and should have fasted for one hour before receiving Holy Communion. A person who is conscious of grave sin must not receive the Eucharist without prior sacramental Confession. For those receiving Communion, receiving on the tongue is encouraged. In the event of wind or rain, it may be required. For those of you who are not Catholic, we cannot admit you to Holy Communion, however, we encourage you to express in your hearts a prayer of desire for unity with the Lord Jesus and with one another. COMMUNION HYMN Adore Te Devote arr. chant/ Stephen Grimm (Choir only on odd # verses) 2 Visus, tactus, gustus in te fallitur, Sed auditus solo tuto creditur: Credo quidquid dixit Dei Filius: Nil hoc verbo veritatis verbo verius. 4 Plagas, sicut Thomas, non intueor: Deum tamen meum te confiteor: Fac me tibi semper magis credere, In te spem habere, te diligere. 6 Pie pellicane, Jesu Domine, Me immundum munda tuo sanguine, Cuius una stilla salvum facere Totum mundum quit ab omni scelere. Jesus, My Lord, My God, My All Refrain: Sweet Sacrament, we Thee adore! Oh, Make us love Thee more and more. Oh, Make us love Thee more and more.

8 HOUR OF GREAT MERCY EXPOSITION OF THE MOST BLESSED SACRAMENT O Salutaris Hostia, Quae caeli pandis ostium; Bella premunt hostilia, Da robur, fer auxilium. Uni trinoque Domino, Sit sempiterna gloria, Qui vitam sine termino, Nobis donet in patria. Amen. SATURDAY, APRIL 11 (DAY 9) DIVINE MERCY NOVENA “Today bring to Me SOULS WHO HAVE BECOME LUKEWARM, and immerse them in the abyss of My mercy. These souls wound My Heart most painfully. My soul suffered the most dreadful loathing in the Garden of Olives because of lukewarm souls. They were the reason I cried out: ‘Father, take this cup away from Me, if it be Your will.’ For them the last hope of salvation is to run to My mercy.” Most Compassionate Jesus, You are Compassion Itself. I bring lukewarm souls into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart. In this fire of Your pure love let these tepid souls, who, like corpses, filled You with such deep loathing, be once again set aflame. O Most Compassionate Jesus, exercise the omnipotence of Your mercy and draw them into the very ardor of Your love, and bestow upon them the gift of holy love, for nothing is beyond Your power. Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon lukewarm souls who are nonetheless enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. Father of Mercy, I beg You by the bitter Passion of Your Son and by His three-hour agony on the Cross: let them, too, glorify the abyss of Your mercy. Amen. SUNDAY, APRIL 12 (DAY 1) DIVINE MERCY NOVENA “Today bring to Me ALL MANKIND, ESPECIALLY ALL SINNERS, and immerse them in the ocean of My mercy. In this way you will console Me in the bitter grief into which the loss of souls plunges Me.” Most Merciful Jesus, whose very nature it is to have compassion on us and to forgive us, do not look upon our sins but upon our trust which we place in Your infinite goodness. Receive us all into the abode of Your Most Compassionate Heart, and never let us escape from It. We beg this of You by Your love which unites You to the Father and the Holy Spirit. Eternal Father, turn Your merciful gaze upon all mankind and especially upon poor sinners, all enfolded in the Most Compassionate Heart of Jesus. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion show us Your mercy, that we may praise the omnipotence of Your mercy forever and ever. Amen.

9 PRAYER FOR THE HOUR OF GREAT MERCY You expired Jesus, but the source of life gushed forth for souls and the ocean of mercy opened up for the whole world. O Fount of Life, unfathomable Divine Mercy, envelop the whole world and empty Yourself out upon us (Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska, 1319). O Blood and Water which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus, as a fount of mercy for us, I trust in You (3 times) (Diary, 84). THE DIVINE MERCY CHAPLET The Our Father // The Hail Mary // The Apostles’ Creed I believe in God, the Father almighty, Creator of heaven and earth, and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died and was buried; He descended into hell; on the third day He rose again from the dead; He ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of God, the Father almighty; from there He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy Catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen. On the Our Father beads: V. Eternal Father, I offer You the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ, R. in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world. On the Hail Mary beads: V. For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, R. Have mercy on us and on the whole world. IN CONCLUSION: Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world. (3 times) (Diary, 476) Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us and increase Your mercy in us, that in difficult moments we might not despair nor become despondent, but with great confidence submit ourselves to Your holy will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen (Diary, 950). BENEDICTION HYMN ST. THOMAS AQUINAS Tantum ergo Sacramentum, Veneremur cernui, Et antiquum documentum, Novo cedat ritui; Praestet fides supplementum, Sensuum defectui. Genitori genitoque, Laus et jubilatio, Salus, honor, virtus quoque, Sit et benedictio: Procedenti ab utroque, Compar sit laudatio. Amen. (continues on page 12)

The Marians’ Founder was canonized on June 5, 2016. The Marian charism is three-fold: to spread devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary as the Immaculate Conception that others may come to know her as the powerful intercessor she is; to pray for the souls in Purgatory, especially those who have no one else to pray for them; and to assist parish priests where the need is greatest.
