Oh, what pain they cause Me when they are not willing to accept them! Proclaim, My daughter, that I am Love and Mercy Itself ... Do whatever is within your power to spread devotion to My mercy. I will make up for what you lack ... (Diary, 1074) . Speak to the world about My mercy. Let all mankind recognize My unfathomable mercy. It is a sign for the end times; after it will come the day of justice. While there is still time, let them have recourse to the fount of My mercy ... (Diary, 848) . Let the sinner be not afraid to approach Me (Diary, 50, 1059) . I desire that priests preach this great mercy of Mine towards sinful souls (Diary, 50) . These are challenges; and there are many of them scattered throughout the pages of Sister Faustina’s Diary. Along with them go many precious promises of the Lord for those who venerate The Divine Mercy and for those who spread this devotion: I promise that the soul that will venerate this image [of The Divine Mercy] will not perish. I also promise victory over [its] enemies already here on earth, especially at the hour of death. I Myself will defend it as My own glory (Diary, 48) .
