This mystery is the mistery of Mary's salvation, which is essentially the gracious gift of God's merciful love which preserved her from sin's domination "and made her a new creature" (LG 56). Mary, in the mystery of her Immaculate Conception, is the masterpiece of God's Mercy, is the first among all who were saved and who have more abundantly experienced the salvific gift of God's merciful love, and therefore, is the first to sing the wonder of God's mercy (cf. Lk 1,46-55) and the most generous cooperator of her Son in the work of salvation (LG 6 1).
