iarize Polish society with the person of the Founder of the Marians. He persuaded Father Lucas Rosolecki, the dean of the Piarists in Vilnius to write Father Papczy<ski’s biography. During one of the Marian chapters, Father Casimir suggested that an engraving with Father Papczy<ski’s image should be made and spread among the people. While he was staying in Rome in 1751, he gath- ered information regarding the procedure of the beatifica- tion process. He urged the superiors of the time not to neglect their efforts to bring about the elevation to the honors of the altar of their Founder. He directly associated these efforts to the spiritual and physical growth of his religious family and the cultivation of devotion to Mary. He wrote to his beloved disciple, Father Casimir Polak : Our demise is certain if should we doubt the sanctity of our Founder and neglect to spread the honor which is due to him; for in so doing we cast dis- credit on such a great Servant of God and on devotion to the Blessed Mother. His awareness of these matters became a source of wise and far-reaching decisions which Father Casimir would make after he had been elected Superior General of the Marians for a second time. 3.
