lease of the Madonna Dei Cerchi chapel with Marquis Christopher Cenci, its owner. But the General Council in Poland did not approve this contract because of the high price and the fact that the chapel was located in an unhealthy environment. During his stay in Rome, Father Casimir tended to the matters of his congregation and got acquainted with the lives of other religious orders. He devoted a lot of time to prayer, visiting the churches, reading, and writing. In 1733 he published a book in Rome titled “Vestigia aeternae felicitatis” ]Traces of Eternal Happiness\. The book did not survive to our time, so it is not possible to evaluate it today. It appears from the testimonies given by the witnesses in the beatification process that the book was a biography of St. Ignatius of Antioch. Father Casimir returned to Poland in the first half of 1734. With a new zeal he immersed himself into the cur- rent of work for the congregation. He fulfilled the duties of secretary during the chapter of July 3, 1734 at the Korabiew Forest. He was unanimously elected Assistant General; and once again he was given the duty of educat- ing the novices. At the annual meeting on July 5, 1735, he was made Vice-Superior of the monastery at the Korabiew Forest and Instructor of Moral Theology. On July 10th of the follow- ing year, he was entrusted with the responsibility of being Spiritual Director of the Korabiew Forest monastery. 19 THE SERVANT OF MARY IMMACULATE
