J uly 18 On July 18, 1960, Father JULIAN KAZAKAS , a member of the Lithuanian Province, died at the age of 74. He was a priest for 50 years and a religious for 48. He joined our Congregation in Fribourg and accompanied Blessed George in 1913 to the U.S., where he remained until 1926, assisting with the founding of the Chicago house. Upon his return to Lithuania, he became councilor and secretary of the Province and worked in the Marijampolė school. After the suppression of reli- gious houses in Lithuania, he fulfilled the duties of pastor in various parishes. He is buried in Marijampolė. In 1992, Father CESLAUS FAJKOWSKI (Fa-y-kof-ski), a member of the Polish Province, died at the hospital in Siedlce at the age of 83. He was a religious for 65 years and a priest for 53. While a novice at Raśna, he had the fortune of meet- ing Blessed George. He studied for a year in Rome. He was the superior in various houses for 18 years and fulfilled the office of novice master at Skórzec for 11 years. He lived at the Skórzec house for 37 years, and was engaged in pastoral work there. A man of profound faith and prayer, he was appreciated by all as a confessor. He was known for his humility, obedience, and religious poverty. He is buried in the Marian Fathers’ cemetery in Skórzec. J uly 19 On July 19, 1784, Father JAMES LEWICKI (Le-vits-ki), preacher of the monastery, died at the age of 58 at the monastery in Berezdov. As a priest, he trans- ferred from the Order of the Most Holy Trinity to ours. He was buried in the crypt of the Berezdov church. In 2019, Father JĀZEPS SITNIEKS , a member of the Latvian Vicariate, died in Daugavpils, Latvia. He was 82 years old, a religious for 31 years, and a priest for 26. He served as treasurer of the diocesan seminary in Riga, pastor in Jurmala and Viļāni, and then as superior of the former Latvian Province of our Congregation. He is buried in the Marian Fathers’ cemetery near St. Michael’s Church in Viļāni. J uly 20 On July 20, 1776, Father VALERIAN DĄBROWSKI (Dom-brof-ski) died at the monastery in Goźlin at the age of 51, having been a religious for 31 years. He was president of the monastery, a lector of philosophy and theology, and the assis- tant and secretary of the Order. He was highly regarded as a “truly religious man.” He is buried in the crypt of the Goźlin church. J ULY 95
