J une 29 On June 29, 1816, Father PETER GROCHALEWICZ (Grokha-levich), a “Father of the Order” and president of the monastery, died at the age of 73 at the monastery in Raśna. He is buried in the crypt of the Raśna church. In 1864, Father MATTHEW KOMOROWSKI (Komorofski), a “Father of the Order,” was deported to Siberia at the age of 49 for his participation in the insur- rection.At the time he had been president of the monastery in Skórzec for two years. The date and place of his death are unknown. In 2017, Father FRANCIS JAWORSKI , member of the Portuguese Vicariate, died at the Hospital of Macedo de Cavaleiros, Portugal, at the age of 93. He was a religious for 61 years and a priest for almost 57. He was born in the Silesian town of Jawór and during World War II, the German army forcibly recruited him. He joined the Congregation in Hereford, U.K. after World War II. He studied in Rome, where he was ordained. In 1962, he was sent to Portugal where he was educator at the minor seminary and the house superior. In 1981, he went to the U.S., where he was house superior in Stockbridge and later the Superior of the St. Stanislaus Kostka Province. In 1993, he returned to Portugal, where for some years, he admin- istered the pilgrims’ house of São Paulo in Fátima and served as treasurer of the Portuguese Vicariate. In 2015, he was transferred to the house in Balsamão, where his state of health began to gradually worsen. He is buried in Balsamão. J une 30 from the mArIAn CAlenDAr: On June 30, 1941, servant of god father eugene KulesZA (Koo-le- sha), age 50, was arrested and murdered by Soviet soldiers fleeing from the Germans. He was a religious for 23 years and a priest for 20. He was ordained to the priesthood by Blessed George Matulaitis-Matulewicz. Starting in 1926, he served in the Bielany College of the Marian Fathers in Warsaw. In 1938, he was assigned to the Marian religious house in Druya, Belarus, where he became the house superior and the high school principal and made himself quickly known as a good superior, a talented director, and an enthusiastic man of great personal holi- ness. He was a man of vast learning, of great eloquence and of a lively faith. He is buried at the church in Druya. On February 9, 2021, his beatification process was opened in Warsaw, Poland. l.
