In 1958, Brother CASIMIR SYDONOWICZ , a member of the American Province of St. Stanislaus Kostka, died at the age of 64 at the hospital in Henley-on- Thames, Great Britain. He was a religious for 8 years and served the community of Fawley Court as a gardener. He was originally buried in the cemetery in Hereford, but later his remains were moved to the cemetery in Henley-on-Thames. J une 21 On June 21, 1774, Brother SIMON died in Radom, Poland, where he hap- pened to be in connection with the National Assembly. He is buried in the cemetery of the Bernardine Fathers in Radom. In 1941, Father JOHN TOTORAITIS , a member of the Lithuanian Province, died at the age of 68 in his native village of Bliuviskiai. He was a priest for 45 years and a religious for 31. He made his novitiate in the private apartment of Fr. Renov- ator in St. Petersburg, Russia. In 1911, after the death of Fr. Sękowski, he partici- pated along with Blessed George and Fr. Bučys in the first General Chapter of the renovated Institute, which elected Fr. Renovator the General Superior. He was a renowned historian and taught history at the University of Kaunas and in our school at Marijampolė. He is buried in Marijampolė. J une 22 On June 22, 1735, Brother JEROME of SAINT VALENTINE , a cleric already advanced in age, died at the monastery in Puszcza Korabiewska. He served the community as a gardener. He is buried in the crypt of the Puszcza Korabiewska church. In 1849, Father SYLVESTER WIDZBOR died at the monastery in Marijampolė, at the age of 43. He was Assistant of the Order and president of the monastery in Miroslavas. He is buried in Marijampolė. In 1965, Father SIGISMUND TRÓSZYŃSKI (Troo-shin’ski) died in the opinion of sanctity at the age of 79 in Otwock, Poland. He was a priest for 52 years and a religious for 50. As a pastor of the parish in Bielany (later Bielany-Mary- mont), he cared for the poor in a particularly heroic manner, especially during the German occupation. He was chaplain to the Polish underground army duringWorld War II and also during the Warsaw Uprising. For this reason, and also because he took care of the orphans of the insurgents, the Communists put him in prison for 6 years. He is buried in the Marian Fathers’ section of the Wawrzyszew cemetery in Warsaw. J UNE 85
