J UNE 83 J une 13 On June 13, 1803, Father ADRIAN IGNATOWSKI , a “Father of the Order Emeritus,” age 69, died in Pruszyn, where he served as a vicar at the local parish. He was a religious for 48 years. He was the president of various monasteries and was eventually elected General Superior, an office which he fulfilled “most com- mendably” for 6 years. He also taught our seminarians at Marijampolė and Skórzec. He was known for his religious observance and virtuous life of obedience and poverty. He is buried at the church in Pruszyn near Siedlce, where he was a vicar. In 2004, Brother JOHN ŁOJKO (Wo-y-ko) died in Góra Kalwaria at the age of 97. He spent 41 years in our Congregation, serving as a tailor. He was always closely united to the Merciful Jesus. He is buried in Góra Kalwaria. J une 14 On June 14, 1801, Brother JAMES TRUSZKOWSKI (Troo-shkof-ski) died at the age of 74 at the monastery in Marijampolė; he was a religious for 35 years. He served the community as a gardener and was highly regarded for his singular love of the religious virtues, his simplicity, and his regular observance. He is buried in Marijampolė. J une 15 On June 15, 1790, Father JOACHIM STANIEWSKI (Stan’ef-ski), a “Father of the Order,” died at the age of 70 at the monastery in Puszcza Korabiewska, where he is buried. In 2010, Father RUPERT LONGIN KUBRANOWICZ , a member of the Brazilian Province, died in his 94 th year of life. He was a religious for 57 years and a priest for almost 38. In 1942, he was drafted into the Polish army under the com- mand of the Gen. WładysławAnders. After the war he joined the Marians in Great Britain. Bishop Chester Sipovič, the then General Superior of our Congregation, gave permission for his transfer to Brazil, where he completed the seminary and became a priest. For many years he worked pastorally in Brazil and was appreciated for his great piety and wisdom. He is buried in the Marian Fathers’ cemetery in Curitiba. J une 16 On June 16, 1972, Brother NICHOLAS PILIPCZUK (Pee-lip-chuk), a mem- ber of the Polish Province, died in Głuchołazy, Poland, at the age of 64. He was a religious for 43 years. During the Warsaw Uprising of 1944, he lost one hand and became sick with tuberculosis. Meek and humble, he bore his mutilation and illness with admirable patience. He is buried in Głuchołazy.
