† A LBUM OF THE D ECEASED F ATHERS AND B ROTHERS † 150 In 2000, Father LADISLAUS PEŁCZYŃSKI died unexpectedly on Eden Hill in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. He was 84 years old, a religious for 65 years and a priest for 58. In 1944, he set up, with the guidance of Frs. Bakalarczyk and Łuniewski, the Association of Marian Helpers in the United States and also helped form the Apostolate of The Divine Mercy. He served as provincial superior of the St. Stanislaus Kostka Province from 1969 to 1975 and several times as treasurer. during the difficult times of the Communist regime in Poland, he channeled finan- cial support to the Polish Province with the permission of his superiors. He assisted the Marians in England, Portugal, and Brazil at the onset of their ministries. He supervised the collecting, editing, and publishing of documents on our Congregation’s history and spirituality. He is buried in the Marian Fathers’ cemetery on Eden Hill in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. In 2014, Father CHESTER FRANCISZKOWICZ (Francjish-ko-vitch) died at the hospital in Piaseczno on the day of our patronal solemnity of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. He was 75 years old, a religious for 57 years and a priest for 48. He served at various Polish parishes as a catechist and pas- toral assistant. He was transferred to our house in Góra Kalwaria and assigned to serve as a chaplain at the local nursing home, carrying out this duty for 15 years, until 2004. He spent the remaining 10 years of his life as a resident of our house in Góra Kalwaria. Due to his health, he stayed at the nursing home for the last few weeks of his life. He is buried in Góra Kalwaria. D eCember 9 On December 9, 1976, Father JOHN WŁODARKIEWICZ (Vwo-darke- vich), a member of the Polish Province, died of a heart ailment at the age of 58 at the house in Licheń, Poland. He was a religious for 31 years and a priest for 24. He was dedicated to pastoral ministry and served as a confessor at the Shrine of Licheń during the last two years of his life. He is buried in Licheń. D eCember 10 On December 10, 1931, BrotherANTHONYSIWICKI (See-vit-ski), a mem- ber of the Lithuanian Province for 18 years, died at the age of 34 at the house in Marijampolė. He entered our Congregation in Fribourg with the intention of becom- ing a priest, but was forced to abandon further ecclesiastical studies for health rea- sons and remained a lay-brother. He was an exemplary religious, loved by all, and he fulfilled the duties of educator and teacher in our school at Marijampolė until his death. He is buried in Marijampolė. In 1947, Father BENEDICT SKRINDA , age 79, died in Latvia. He was a priest for 44 years and a religious for 24. He was one of the first Latvians to join our
