Album of the Deceased Marian Fathers and Brothers
In 1814, Father HONORIUS TYTZ , superior of the residence in Volpa, died at the approximate age of 50. He was buried in the crypt of the Volpa church. In 1952, Brother STANISLAUS MONTVYDAS , a member of the American Province of St. Casimir for 37 years, died at the age of 61 in a Chicago hospital. For over 30 years he fulfilled the duties of librarian at our Draugas Publishing Center. He is buried in the section reserved for the Marians in St. Casimir’s cemetery in Chicago. D eCember 6 On December 6, 1803, Brother DONATO NARUSZKIEWICZ (Naroosh- k'evich), a religious for 28 years, died at the age of 53 at the monastery in Marijampolė. He fulfilled the duties of treasurer and shopper for the community. He is buried in Marijampolė. In 1806, Father EMERIC REUBAN died unexpectedly at the residence in Volpa at the end of the spiritual exercises. He was buried in the crypt of the Volpa church. In 1977, Brother FELIX HOLI died at the age of 83 at the house in Puszcza Mariańska. He was a member of the Polish Province for 59 years. Always ready to serve others, and serving mainly as a sacristan and a barber, he was known for his diligence and serenity of spirit. He was the first to be buried in Puszcza Mariańska after the renewal of the Congregation. D eCember 7 On December 7, 2020, Father WALTER GURGUL , a member of the Amer- ican Province, passed away at the age of 90. He was a religious for 66 years and a priest for 60. His family was forcibly brought to Siberia, where his father died from starvation and disease. He completed his initial education in Nazareth and Jeru- salem and obtained his licentiate degree in theology at the Angelicum , in Rome. He was the headmaster and instructor at The Divine Mercy College Preparatory School in Fawley Court, U.K. In 1997, he was transferred to the United States, where he served mainly at the National Shrine of Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Massa- chusetts, earning the reputation of an excellent confessor. He is buried in the Marian Fathers’ cemetery on Eden Hill. D eCember 8 On December 8, 1776, Brother ADALBERT SZATYŃSKI (Sha-tin’-ski), a religious for 18 years, died at the age of 74 at the monastery in Marijampolė, where he is buried. D ECEMBER 149
