A ugust 21 On August 21, 1796, Brother PASCHALANCEWICZ (Antse-vich), treasur- er and collector of alms, died at the age of 59 at the monastery in Raśna, where he is buried. A ugust 22 On August 22, 1871, Father ALEXANDER ROMAN WILCZYŃSKI (Vil- chin'-ski) died at the age of 70 at the monastery in Marijampolė. Born in 1802, he joined the Marians in 1823 and was a religious for 48 years. He was vicar general and, beginning in 1859, the General Superior. He governed the Order with great dedication and care for its growth. In 1864, along with other members of the monastery in Skórzec, he was deported by the Russian authorities to the monastery in Marijampolė. He saw personally the devastation wrought on the community, which he recounted in his letters. In February of 1865, he was forced to resign from the General Superior office before the bishop of Sejny. He is buried in Marijampolė. In 1966, Father JOSEPH MARGIS died of cancer in Rosario, Argentina. He was almost 73 years old. He was a religious for 55 years and a priest for 47. He served as a pastor, a local superior and for the last nine years of his life, the superior of the Argentinean Vicariate. He is buried in the Marian Fathers’ cemetery in Rosario. In 1978, FatherALEXANDER SĘKOWSKI (Sen-kof-ski) died at the age of 102. He was a member of the Polish Province, a priest for 79 years and a religious for 61. He labored in Poland and in the United States. In his apostolate he was a great propagator of religious books, a number of which he wrote himself. He was esteemed for his diligent service in the confessional, which he also used for spiritual and vocational direction. He was known not only for his humility and cordiality, but also for the great patience with which he bore blindness and infirmity during the last years of his life. He is buried in the Marian Fathers’ section of the Wawrzyszew cemetery in Warsaw. A ugust 23 On August 23, 1995, Father STANISLAUS MAŽEJKA , a member of the Lithuanian Province, died in Moscow at the age of 90. He was a religious for 72 years and a priest for 63. He studied theology at the University of Kaunas and then in Rome, where he obtained his Licentiate degree. After 1937, he was superior for some years in the house of Panevezys and director of the association “Apostolate of Prayer.” After World War II and until 1948, under the Communist regime, he was local superior and pastor inMarijampolė.
