n 2019, Father MARTIN RZESZUTEK , a member of the American Prov- ince, died in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. He was 93 years old, a religious for 76 years and a priest for 68. He studied in Washington and Rome, where he was ordained. He served in various pastoral and administrative positions both in the U.S. and later in Rome as Secretary General and in Portugal as the Director of the Marians’ pilgrimage center in Fatima. He is remembered as a gentle confessor, a polyglot, and an avid gardener and birder. He is buried in the Marian Fathers’ ceme- tery on Eden Hill in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. A ugust 20 On August 20, 1770, Father GERARD RAUDOWICZ (Ra-oo-dovich) died of the plague at the residence in Ostrikov. He was preacher of the residence. He is buried in Ostrikov. In 1787, Father ANDREW SZYLARSKI (Shee-lar-ski) died at the age of 57 at the monastery in Góra Kalwaria. He fulfilled the offices of president of the monastery, novice master and confessor of the Dominican Sisters. He was a man of exemplary religious observance and piety. He is buried in Góra Kalwaria. In 1868, Father JOHN JUNOWICZ (Yoo-no-vich) died at the age of 45 at the monastery in Marijampolė. He was a religious for 24 years. First residing at the monastery in Miroslavas, after its suppression in 1866, he was forcibly transferred by the Russian civil authority to the monastery in Marijampolė, where he is buried. In 1976, Father LADISLAUS MĘCZYWOR (Men-chi-vor), a member of theAmerican Province of Saint Stanislaus Kostka, died at the age of 57 in a hospital in NorthAdams, Massachusetts. He was a religious for 36 years and a priest for 29. He was known for his intense missionary and pastoral activity. He was a zealous fisher of men after the example of St. Peter. He is buried in the Marian Fathers’ cemetery on Eden Hill in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. In 2018, Father MARK MARTIŠKA , of Slovak origin, died suddenly at the age of 38 while vacationing with his relatives in Croatia. Most likely, the cause of death was drowning. A member of the Polish Province, he was a religious for 19 years and a priest for 13. He served in the parish of Dudnice, Slovakia, where the Marians had a religious house, and later served in Hrádek, Czech Republic. In 2015, he was transferred to the religious house in Brumov-Bylnice in Moravia and in 2017, was appointed its superior, as well as the Czech Vicariate’s first councilor and treasurer. He was known as a priest dedicated to pastoral ministry and to his reli- gious community. He is buried in his hometown parish in Omšen, Slovakia. A UGUST 105
