A UGUST 101 In 1941, Brother JOSEPH GRUNDANS , a member of the Latvian Province, died at the age of 45 at the house in Viļāni. A religious for 17 years, he served the community as an organist. He is buried in Viļāni. A ugust 4 On August 4, 1973, Father MICHAEL URBANAVIČIUS , a member of the American Province of St. Casimir, died in Chicago at the age of 82. He was a priest for 58 years and a religious for 52. He completed his studies in Warsaw, where he also received his priestly ordination. After meeting Blessed George, he entered our Congregation and, later left for the United States, where he conducted parish mis-sions, was a pastor in a number of Lithuanian parishes, an educator of clerics and local superior. He is buried in the section reserved for the Marians in St. Casimir’s cemetery in Chicago. In 1985, the novice of the Polish Province DARIUS GRZELA (G-zhe-la) died of cancer at the age of 21. He is buried in Kielce, Poland. A ugust 5 On August 5, 2012, Father PROSPERAS BUBNYS , a member of the Lithuanian Vicariate, died in Marijampolė at the age of 95. He was a religious for 23 years and a priest for 68. He studied at the Marian gymnasium in Marijampolė and at the military school. He entered the seminary in Kaunas, but had to interrupt his studies because of the war. In 1945, he was arrested and sent to a labor camp. Upon his return home, he served in various Lithuanian parishes. He joined our Congregation in 1989, and took up service to the faithful at St. Gertrude’s Church. Transferred to Marijampolė, he ministered there until his death. He is buried in Marijampolė. In 2021, Father ALEXANDER OLCZYŃSKI died at the nursing home of St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta in Lublin. A member of the Polish Province, he was 92, a religious for 70 years and a priest for 61. He was involved in the pastoral ministry in various places in Poland, Argentina and Belarus. He also conducted parish mis-sions. The last three years of his life he spent in the Seminary House in Lublin sur-rounded by diligent care of our seminarians. He is buried in Lublin. A ugust 6 On August 6, 1878, Father SIMON SZAŁASZEWICZ (Sha-wa-she- vich), age 38, drowned while swimming in the Sesupe River in the vicinity of the Liud-vinavas village, Lithuania, where he was visiting his relatives. He is buried next to the church in Marijampolė.
