Pillars of Fire In My Soul

Know, My daughter, that My heart is Mercy Itself. From this sea of mercy graces flow out upon the whole world. No soul that has approached Me has ever gone away unconsoled. All misery gets buried in the depths of My mercy, and every saving and sanctifying grace flows from this fountain (Diary, 1777) . Having stated to His servant in so solemn a manner the power of His mercy, the Savior declared what she is to be, by His most gracious will, with regard to this mercy: My daughter, I desire that your heart be an abiding place of My mercy. I desire that this mercy flow out upon the whole world through your heart. Let no one who approaches you go away without that trust in My mercy which I so ardently desire from souls (Diary, 1777) . These great and splendid statements of Jesus, which, in our opinion, assign to the humble Sister Faustina an immensely extensive mission, demand some clarification. This we will present in a more comprehensive biography. For the time being, let what has been written here inspire a deep trust in the efficacy of the intercession of the new “secretary and apostle” of Jesus’ mercy. For, private devotion to saintly servants of God, even though they have not yet been “beatified”, is not only permitted, but is in accord with the mind of the Church. 22 VII.
