Digital Marian Helper Fall_2018

Marian Helpers Riccardo and Sophia We followed our call to support vocations, and we came to know Marians like Br. Sean. We love them as our children. They are a source of tremendous comfort to people. Riccardo has prostate cancer. When we get a good report from his cancer doctors, we feel like running to the Shrine to thank the seminarians for praying for us. Without these courageous men, there would not be any priests. Who would hear our Confessions? Baptize our babies? Marry our children? What hope would the sick have? And who would bury the dead? Brother Sean, MIC: I had been trying to discern my calling for a few years when I picked u p Fr. Donald Calloway’s b ook No Turning Back . While reading the last chapter, I said to myself, “I could be a priest if I could be a priest like that .” I quickly signed up to visit the Marians to investigate my calling more thoroughly. It was a great retreat, but when I got back on the plane I was still uncertain. Then, at 30,000 feet in the air, somewhere over western Texas, God an- swered my decade-long prayer for vocational clar- ity. God asked me to trust that He would lead me into a life of greater fulfillment if I answered this call to join the Marians. Live the call! Write: Fr.
