1157 protestatio romam abeuntis 3. Protestatio Romam Abeuntis [Varsaviae, ca 20 X 1667] Introduction The original text of the Protestaio, written by the hand of Fr. Papczyński, has not survived to our times, and it seems that he did not give this work any title. The content of the Protestatio is known to us today only from the Protocollum of the Marian Order (Prot.), where the publisher divided the text into two parts, giving each its own title. Admittedly, the title of Protestatio Romam abeuntis was given only to the first part, but we give this title to the whole work, following Sidry (1937), Navikevicius (1960) and the Positio (1977). Father Papczyński, a member of the Piarist house in Warsaw, wrote this Protestatio shortly before embarking on a journey to Rome, where he had been called by the Piarist General, Fr. Cosmas Chiara.
