Penso, in particolare, al lavoro della Famiglia religiosa in Lituania, Lettonia, Ucraina, Bielorussia e Kazakhstan, e vi esprimo compiacimento per quanto fate nella Repubblica Ceca e in Slovacchia, come pure per l'attività svolta per cinque anni in Estonia. Molti dei vostri Confratelli hanno pagato con la vita o con anni nei gulag la dedizione alla causa del Vangelo. L'impegno di continuare e consolidare questa vostra difficile, ma importante, presenza deve costituire oggi una delle vostre priorità apostoliche. Il Signore renda feconda di frutti spirituali particolarmente la vostra attività in Africa, specialmente nel tormentato Rwanda, e, nel prossimo futuro, in Camerun, come pure in altre zone di jach Europy, w obu Amerykach i w Australii. Zachęcam was do wytrwałej pracy i błogosławię szkołom, wydawnictwom, parafiom, domom rekolekcyjnym, sanktuariom, dziełom miłosierdzia, posłudze wśród emigrantów i instytucjom dobroczynnym przez was prowadzonym. W sposób szczególny myślę o pracy marianów na terenach Litwy, Łotwy, Ukrainy, Białorusi i Kazachstanu oraz dziękuję za pracę na terenie Czech i Sło- waqi, a także za pięć lat pracy marianów w Estonii. Wielu waszych współbraci swoje oddanie sprawie Ewangelii przypłaciło życiem lub długimi latami gułagu. Przedłużenie i umocnienie tej trudnej, ale ważnej obecności powinniście dziś uznać za jeden z waszych apostolskich piorytetów. Niech Bóg sprawi, że wasza obecność w Afryce, zwłaszcza w udręczonej Ruandzie, a w niedalekiej przyszłości także w Kamerunie, przyniesie duchowe owoce, niech activities in Poland, in other European countries, in America and in Australia. I encourage you to persevere and I bless the schools, the publishing houses, the parishes, the retreat houses, the shrines, the works of mercy, the ministry to emigrants and the other charitable institutions of which you are in charge. I am thinking, in particular, of the work of your Religious Family in Lithuania, Latvia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan, and I express my pleasure to you for all that you do in the Czech Republic and in Slovakia, as well as for your five-year's work in Estonia. Many of your Confrères paid with their life or with years in the gulags for their dedication to the cause ofthe Gospel. The committment to continue and to consolidate this your difficult, but important, presence ought to constitute today one of your apostolic priorities.
