Decreta Ordinationes

-757przebaczenia i solidarności (...). Wreszcie, rozmyślając o Maryi, Matce Miłosierdzia wy sami bądźcie pełni duchowej łagodności i współczucia (...). Oto jej treść: "Kapituła Generalna serdecznie pozdrawia wszystkich członków Zgromadzenia, którzy doczekali podeszłego wieku lub zużyli swe siły w służbie Bogu i ludziom. Przypomina się przełożonym i wszystkim marianom, aby otaczali szacunkiem i troską współbraci starszych i osłabionych, a także aby starali się We find in these words an encouragement for further and even more zealous service to bring closer to the faithful - God full of love and mercy. They also inspire us to treat one another with respect and gentleness that is full of sincerity. Thus among the documents of the Chapter we find yet another appeal, this one "regarding the sanctity to be found in old age and illnes". "The General Chapter cordially greets al I the members of the Congregation that have reached their senior years or who have expended their strength in the service of God and his people, and thanks them for offering their burdens, prayers and sufferings for the intention of the Congregation and the entire Church. At the same time, we urge the members who have advanced in years not to weaken their bond with the Community but to strengthen it. They should share their experience of religious life, particularly in the areas of spirituality and ministry. We also request of our senior and infirm members that they offer to God as penance and restitution the sufferings and burdens they bear, and their life in community, for both themselves and others. We remind the superiors and all Marians that they should surround the elder and weaker members with respect and care, and that they should also try to create for them an environment in wich they would still feel needed for the Congregation and the Church (cf. C. 96 and 97)". The Ninth Ordinary Assembly
