-692Apel Błogosławionego Jerzego o ciągłe wzrastanie marianów w świętości godzien jest szczególnego podkreślenia w związku z faktem zatwierdzenia w ubiegłym roku przez Stolicę Świętą odnowionych Ustaw Zgromadzenia. Nakazana przez Kościół praca nad ich przystosowaniem do współczesnych potrzeb rozpoczęła się już w 1969 roku. Realizaqi tego zadania poświęcono aż 4 Kapituły Generalne, poprzedzone przygotowaniami w poszczególnych Prowincjach i specjalnych komisjach oraz wspierane modlitwami wszystkich współbraci. Był więc to czas wzmożonego wysiłku całej mariańskiej wspólnoty, chociaż miał on na celu odpowiednie przepracowanie Konstytucji ułożonych przez samego Ojca Odnowiciela, nie oznaczało to sprzeniewierzenia się Jego idei. Raczej przeciwnie, trud ten świadczył o wysiłku posłuszeństwa najpierw względem wyraźnego życzenia Kościoła, następnie zaś wobec Błogosławionego Jerzego, którego wszak nie bez przyczyny nazywamy Odnowicielem i który sam podkreślał konieczność poprawiania dawnych przepisów, "jeżeli z biegiem czasu zaistnieje potrzeba wprowadzenia w nich zmian" /DD 18 X 1910/. Ta sama jednak wierność wobec idei Ojca Jerzego każę nam przypomnieć inne Jego słowa, będące ważnym komentarzem i dopełnieniem poprzednich: "Te normy z kolei trzeba naprawdę wprowadzać w życie i starannie je zachowywać. Najpiękniejsze i najlepsze przepisy nie pomogą, jeśli nie będą zachowane i nie będą stanowić zasady Christ must be ever deepened - the Christ, for whom, in the service of the Church, according to our motto, we must give our entire life. The appeal of Blessed George for the constant growth in holiness of the Marians is worthy of special attention because of our revised Constitution approved by the Holy See this past year. The work of adjusting them to our present situation according to the requirements of the Church began in 1969. This was a time of intense effort for our entire Marian community. Four General Chapters, preceded by preparations in particular provinces and special commissions, supported by the prayers of the entire community, were dedicated to this work given us by the Church. Although this labor required the adjusting the Constitution written by Blessed George himself, it does not mean that we have been unfaithful to his will - just the opposite. This witnesses to our struggle to be obedient to the mind of the very one whom we call Father Renovator and who himself stressed the necessity of correcting old statutes "if, with the passing of time, the need occurs to introduce such changes" (Spiritual Diary - Oct. 18,1910). Fidelity to the mind of Archbishop George makes us recall other words of his which make an important comment and complete the others: "These norms, then, should indeed be applied in life and accurately observed.
