Swe pierwsze dzieło, opublikowane w 1663 r. pt. "Prodromus Reginae Artium", dedykował "Aeterni Verbi Parenti Pie eloquenti Virgini Mariae sine labe ulla conceptae" ("Matce Sowa Przedwiecznego, pobożnie wymownej Dziewicy Maryi bez żadnej zmazy poczętej"). W samym dniu otrzymania dyspensy ze ślubów w Zgromadzeniu Szkół Pobożnych wypowiedział swe sławne "ślubowanie krwi". W obronie Niepokalanego Poczęcia Matki Bożej tymi słowami: "Oświadczam, że wierzę w to wszystko, w co wierzy Święty Kościół Rzymski, i w co nakaże w przyszłości wierzyć, zwłaszcza zaś wyznaję mą niezłomną wiarę w to, że Najświętsza Boża Rodzicielka Maryja poczęta została bez zmazy grzechu pierworodnego, i obiecuję, że będę szerzył i bronił Jej honoru nawet kosztem własnego życia" ("Profiteor me credere, quidquid Sancta Ecclesia Romana credit, atque deinceps ad credendum praecipiet, maxime vero Sanctissimam Dei Genitricem Mariam absque macula originali esse conceptam profiteor, eiusque honorem etiam cum dispendio vitae meae polliceor a me propagatum ac defensum iri"). In the Novitiate he received the name of Stanislaus of Jesus and Mary, a name he retained to the end of his life, even after his release by apostolic indult from the Congregation of the Piarists. His first published work in 1663, under the title of "Prodromus Reginae Artium", he dedicated "Aeterni Verbi Parenti Pie eloquenti Virgini Mariae sine labe ulla conceptae" ("to the Mother of the Eternal Word, the piously eloquent Virgin Mary conceived without stain"). And on the very day of his being dispensed from his vows in the Congregation of the Pious Schools he pronounced his famous "vow of blood" in defence of the Mother of God's Immaculate Conception in these words. "I profess my belief in whatever the Holy Roman Church believes, and will in time prescribe for our belief, especially indeed do I profess [my belief] that the Most Holy Mother of God Mary was conceived without original sin, and I promise to propagate and defend Her honor even at the expense of my life" ("Profiteor me credere, quidquid Sancta Bcclesia Romana credit, atque deinceps ad credendum praecipiet, maxime vero Sanctissimam Dei Genitricem Mariam absque macula originali esse conceptam profiteer, eiusque honorem etiam cum dispendio vitae meae polliceor a me propagatum ac defensum iri").
