Servant of Mary new file

about the lack of news from Poland, Father Wyszy<ski wrote about his worries to the Superior General of the order on July 15, 1752. Everyone was asking whether the Marians had already arrived from Poland, and he could not even say whether they had left at all. For this reason he was considered to be an irresponsible man, acting on his own. Therefore, he remarked in his letter : I wish that such matters which are to serve God’s greater glory and the promotion of the Order would not be postponed until later, until a council or a chapter. The Superior General may decide these matters of his own authority. Father Wyszy<ski finally received the news that Father John Szkraffer was appointed to go to Portugal. Father Wyszy<ski insisted that he should get there as soon as possible, even if he had to take a loan for the journey. He claimed that they could not delay taking over the founda- tion in Portugal and spreading devotion to Mary Immaculate. When he found out that Father Szkraffer tried to excuse himself on account of his poor health, he reproachfully confided in the Superior General that he did not know who would work when the young excuse them- selves due to poor health or unwillingness. On August 6, 1752, he received the news from the General that his own candidacy for Portugal had been accepted and that Father Benon Bujalski was appointed to be his companion. Father Alexy Fischer was to assume the duties of the Procurator General in Rome. Both arrived in Rome on November 2nd and took their residence together Foundation in Portugal 46
