At the general chapter which took place on August 31, 1722 in G[ra Kalwaria, Father Andrew Deszpot was elect- ed Superior General. The new statutes were drawn up and Father Joachim Koz=owski was sent to Rome as Procurator General to obtain the approval of the order by the Pope. It was at the time of his visit to Rome that he met Francis Wyszy<ski and told him about the damaging activity of his brother Joseph. Upon hearing this account Francis made an almost immediate decision and said to Father Joachim : I wish to mend what my brother has destroyed. I ask you for a habit. On November 18, 1723, in the Church of St. Stanislaus the Bishop and Martyr in Rome, Father Koz=owski received Francis Wyszy<ski into the Marians. He was given the religious name of Casimir of St. Joseph.
