Passing the test My son-in-law, David, is employed by the Canadian Civil Service. To advance, an employee must achieve fluency in French. David took full-time French lessons but failed the test. Five months later, he failed again. Four more attempts ended in failure. Last August, he was offered one final chance. Since he had had no exposure to French in the previous three months, it seemed impossible, so I started praying to Blessed Stanislaus. I also gave prayercards to my friends. Before David took the test again, he phoned my daughter to say, “It will be a miracle if I pass.” Therefore, you can imagine our amazement and gratitude when he received a phone call telling him he finally passed! I hope this testimony will be of help in the cause for Blessed Stanislaus’s canonization. — EL, North Bay, ON, Canada ‘In awe’ over pregnancy We have two children, ages 3 and 5. About a year and a half ago, we decided to try to have another child. With our first two, we were successful on the first or second try. Not so the third, and after an unsuccessful year, we were concerned. We’ve always left things in God’s hands, but we worried something was wrong. Both my husband and I went through tests, which confirmed there was nothing wrong with either of us. Then my mother told me about Blessed Stanislaus and the many answers to prayers through his powerful intercession. I began to pray the novena, and within the month, I became pregnant! We are still in awe over this G r a c e s R e c e i v e d T h r o u g h H i s I n t e r c e s s i o n 83
