Intercessor new version

During the ultrasound, three things became apparent: 1. The baby was two weeks behind in growth. 2. The amniotic fluid level was very low to the point of being dangerous. 3. A Doppler flow study showed “gaps” in the blood flow through the umbilical cord. The doctor said that this third condition was “non- reversible,” and the baby would most likely die in utero. His opinion was that “it would take a miracle for the baby to survive.” His only offer was complete bed rest with a caution that it may not help, but that it wouldn’t hurt either. Stunned by the diagnosis, Susan called her obstetri- cian, who suggested that she see a colleague who is the head of Maternal-Fetal Medicine at the University of Southern California Medical School in Los Angeles. She was able to get an appointment for March 20. When, after making the appointment, Susan called me to tell me of this, I remembered reading about Fr. Stanislaus in Marian Helper magazine. I had sent for some of the prayercards and had just received them. I suggested to Susan that we should ask Fr. Stanislaus for a miracle. I copied the prayers and faxed them to her immediately. That very night my family here in Baltimore and Susan and her husband, Dave, in California began our prayers to Fr. Stanislaus. We prayed specifically that the gaps in the umbilical cord would be healed. Two days later, when Susan saw the doctor in Los Angeles, he ran the same tests (ultrasound and Doppler Flow study).
