members residing in each house and the duties performed by them; 6) to keep other books necessary or useful for administrative purposes; 7) to keep a chronicle of the house, Vicariate, Province, or the Congregation; moreover, it is the duty of the Secretary General, under the direction of the Superior General and his Council, to compose the annals of the Congregation; 8) to give to the Council members necessary information and explanations concerning all those things which are preserved in the archives and which pertain to the matters under consideration by the Council. (C 250) CM 544 Keeping Secret 199Secretaries should observe strict secrecy regarding all matters that have been entrusted to them in confidence, both in and outside the Council meetings.
