† A LBUM OF THE D ECEASED F ATHERS AND B ROTHERS † 146 n oVember 30 On November 30, 1853, Father JOHN STANKIEWICZ (Stank'evitch), a religious for 30 years, died at the age of 53 at the monastery in Marijampolė. After several years as a preacher and schoolteacher, he was sent to study at the Warsaw University. There, he obtained his Licentiate in Theology, and then taught our sem- inarians for four years. A “distinguished preacher,” he carried out a fruitful pastoral ministry for the last six years of his life. He is buried in Marijampolė. In 1868, Father BARTHOLOMEWSTARKOWSKI (Starkofski) died at the age of 48, in Sudargas, Lithuania, where he was associate pastor. He is buried in Sudargas. The precise date of his death is unknown. In 1887, Father JOSEPH GIEGURZYŃSKI (G'e-goo-zhinski) died in Illukshta in Siberia. He was a resident of Igliaukai up until 1864 when he was exiled for pastorally assisting the insurgents. He is buried in Miroslavas. In 1995, Brother STANISLAUS MLECZKO , a member of the Polish Prov- ince, died after surgery at a hospital in Warsaw-Praga. He was 72 years old and, a religious for 45 years. He served the community as a maintenance man at the Warsaw-Praga house. He was a hardworking, humble religious who was always ready to help others. He is buried in the Marian Fathers’ section of theWawrzyszew cemetery in Warsaw. The exact date of death of Subdeacon THEODORE KOWALSKI , born in 1915, is unknown. He joined the Congregation at the age of 20, and upon making his religious profession, studied philosophy for two years at the Warsaw Seminary. From 1938 to 39, he served as a secretary at the Druya gymnasium and then served as an educator at Bielany for one year. From 1940 to 1944, he studied theology at Praga (a borough in Warsaw). In July of 1944, he was ordained a subdeacon. In the Warsaw Uprising he served as the chief of communications and pastoral ministry. After the capitulation he was sent to the prisoners of war camps in Gross-Born and Prentzlan. On May 1, 1945, he fled to the British sector and was appointed the com- mandant of the camp in Moelln near Lubek. On June 4, 1945, he wrote a letter to his superiors from this camp, asking what he had to do next. From that point on nothing is known of his life.
