In 1985, Brother NICODEMUS ŽEMAITIS died suddenly at the age of 74 at Palomene, Lithuania. He was a religious for 57 years. After the suppression of religious communities, he served as sacristan in various churches. He is buried in Palomene. A ugust 27 On August 27, 2004, Father KAZIMIERZ PACEK , a priest for 48 years and a religious for 55, died of cancer at the age of 74 at the Marymont house inWarsaw. He played many different roles in the Polish Province. Starting in 1981, he regularly gave lectures on Scriptural Studies at the Marian Novitiate. For many years he con- ducted retreats for our confreres and served several times as the Master of the Perpetual Novitiate. He was also the censor of the Marian Publishing House. He is buried in the Marian Fathers’ section of the Wawrzyszew cemetery in Warsaw. In 2009, FatherANDREWJANICKI (Ya-nitski) died at the nursing home run by the Orionist Fathers in Łaźniew (Poland). He was 89 years old, a religious for 61 years and a priest for 56. DuringWorldWar II he joined in the underground fighting and took part in the Warsaw Uprising. He was captured and sent to the camp in Lamsdorf near Opole, and then to Murnau, in Bavaria. He studied philosophy and theology at the Catholic University of America inWashington, D.C. He then served as the deputy director of the Divine Mercy Apostolate and the executive editor of the Polish monthly Róże Maryi , while conducting apostolic work in various parish- es in the U.S. and Canada. Starting in 1957, he worked for many years in Great Britain as the director of the Divine Mercy College, a boarding school for Polish boys. He was the author of several books, including his memoirs. In 2006, he returned to Poland. He is buried in Skórzec. A ugust 28 On August 28, 1791, Brother CAJETAN ŚLIWOWSKI (Sh'-livof-ski) died at the age of 36 at the monastery in Puszcza Korabiewska after a prolonged pul- monary illness, which he bore with great patience. He was a religious for 16 years. He is buried in the crypt of the Puszcza Korabiewska church. A ugust 29 On August 29, 1984, Father PETER REMEIKA , a member of the American Province of Saint Casimir, died at the age of 63 at a nursing home in Putnam, Connecticut. He was a priest for 35 years and a religious for 42. He was a diligent missionary and preacher of spiritual exercises in parishes, especially among the Lithuanian people.
