Nursing with the Hands of Jesus

Chapter 3 Sionfpt ai hr i eNt uuLari flsi etey By Fr. Kazimierz Chwalek, MIC In an era of great medical progress and a keener awareness of its limits in helping people to live less stressful and more peaceful lives, more and more people are turning to spirituality for insights on wellbeing and true happiness. Judeo-Christian spirituality — rooted in Divine Revelation, sacramental life, liturgy, prayer, moral and ethical directives, and in the absolute pre-eminence of love — is an inexhaustible source for personal well-being and deep happiness. At the core of Judeo-Christian spirituality is God’s inscrutable, absolute love for humanity, whom He has created, sustains in existence, and continually renews and sanctifies. God’s forgiving, healing, regenerating and divinizing love given to us sinners, in and through Christ, is called Divine Mercy. For as Pope Benedict XVI states, “Divine Mercy is the central nucleus of the Gospel message; it is the very name of God, the face with which He revealed Himself in the Old Covenant and fully in Jesus Christ, the incarnation of creative and redemptive Love. ... From Divine Mercy, which brings peace to hearts, genuine peace flows into the world, peace between different peoples, cultures and religions.”5 38 © Marie Romagnano• Our Lady of Lourdes, Lourdes, FR
