Nursing with the Hands of Jesus

The Divine Mercy message and devotion makes us “the light of the world.” It is our empowerment as nurses when no chaplain is available at the hour of death. Jesus depends on us to give assurance of God’s infinite mercy, to draw graces of forgiveness flowing from His Merciful Heart, and thereby rescue many souls that would otherwise perish. Through St.Faustina, He passes to us this mandate: Tell aching mankind to snuggle close to My merciful Heart, and I will fill it with peace (1074). As hard as nurses might fight for the lives of their patients, Jesus, our Merciful Savior, desires their salvation even more and gives them every opportunity to turn to Him in trust and experience His mercy. So, when nurses share the message of The Divine Mercy, they participate in the work of the salvation of souls, winning them for God for all eternity, a true work of mercy, and they merit the promise: Souls who will spread the honor of My mercy I shield through their entire life as a tender mother her infant, and at the hour of death I will not be a Judge for them, but the Merciful Savior (1075). Priests and The Divine Mercy Tell My priests that hardened sinners will repent on hearing their words when they speak about My unfathomable mercy, about the compassion I have for them in My Heart. To priests who proclaim and extol My mercy, I will give wondrous power; I will anoint their words and touch the hearts of those to whom they will speak (1521). By administering the Sacraments of mercy: Baptism, Penance, Eucharist, and the Anointing of the Sick, priests are specially called to be ministers of God’s 35
