"I was often surprised", confessed S is te r E.L., "when S ister Faustina, during a discussion w ith sisters o f the firs t choir, courageously took part, not considering whether some unpleasantness m igh t befall her, for usually the sisters o f the second choir in sim ilar circumstances would not have the confidence to give their opinions.” I t was no t only the sisters who were su rp rised a t S is te r F au s t in a ’s actions and h e r being well-informed in m a tte rs of faith. H er quite exceptional knowledge in these m a tte rs was also noticed by the clergy. Even Fr.Sopocko, who, as h e r confessor, had th e b e s t oppor­ tun i ty to know the soundness of h e r religious knowl­ edge, w rites of th is very approvingly: "When I chatted to her in the years she was in Vilnius, I was amazed tha t she, a simple nun, with hardly any education, and w ithou t the time to read ascetic works, could speak so knowledgeably o f theological matters, and such exact ones as the mystery o f the Holy Trin ity or the Divine Mercy and other attributes o f God, w ith the expertise o f a consummate theologian."
