I t would indeed be difficult to over-estimate th e role of th e Most Holy Mother in th e life ofS is te r Faus tina . As she felt it, Je su s was inextricably linked with His Mother. In order to fulfil His will, therefore, one should stay as close to h e r as possible. This is w ha t in fact she did. This is confirmed by these verses from he r Diary: "O sweet Mother o f Qod, I model my life on fo u ; f o u are fo r me the bright dazvn; In f o u I lose myself enraptured. O Mother, Immaculate Virgin, In f o u the divine ray is reflected, M idst storms, 'tis f o u who teach me to love the Lord, O my shield and defence from the fo e ."
