Bu t as time went on, doubts began to arise as to whether she h ad done th e righ t th ing in ask ing for hea lth , although i t was for such a good reason. She was no t sure whether Je su s would not ra th e r th a t she served Him by h e r illness. The question was of basic importance, and Sister F au s tina did not w an t to leave i t unexplained. She did not wish for h e r own will to be fulfilled, for she had long given th a t up to the Lord. So once more she confirmed to Him h e r consent to w ha t His will destined h e r for. The re su l t of h e r p rayer was immediate. As if i t were only necessary for her to confirm h e r readiness once again, Je su s accepted the sacrifice. Towards the end of May 1937, the disease re tu rned , and with i t all the old sufferings with the ir former force. Here, a word of explanation seems needed. I t should no t be though t th a t the ac t of offering God h e r hea lth inhibited S ister F aus tina from doing all th a t was n a tu ra l to try to improve it. Her common sense is amazing, and h e r behaviour shows equilibrium and in terio r peace, nor is there hes ita tion one way or the other. W ith submission to the will of God she accepts w ha t comes, b u t on h e r side she does not neglect any th ing possible in h e r circumstances to preserve her hea lth . As S ister Brun assures , "As fa r as concerned medical treatment or medicines, S ister Faustina did everything she was recommended to do." Her superior made a new a t tem p t to help he r and sen t h e r to Rabka, a hea lthy spot in the Carpa th ian mountainside, for climatic trea tm en t . S ister Faus tina , however, was no t suited by the a ir there. Her hea lth grew so much worse th a t she was sen t back to Cracow a fte r not quite a fortnight, and in Cracow, though with obvious effort, she tried to lead a normal religious life, b u t with certain occasional concessions.
