No one was better placed than he was to know the essential elements of the Image of The Divine Mercy, as the Lord had revealed it to St. Faustina, and his reflections on this important subject, taken from his letters, are included in this volume. The most in-depth theological analysis ever written on the life and mission of St. Faustina was provided for the Vatican in the 1970’s by the Rev. Ignacy Rozycki, STD, a leading Polish Thomist, who also served as a member of The International Theological Commission for the Holy See. Fr. Rozycki devoted nearly a decade of his life to the task of making a thorough study of St. Faustina’s Diary . The result of his labors was a tome of approximately 500 pages which was presented to the Vatican as part of the official investigation into Sr. Faustina’s life and virtues by the Congregation for the Causes of Saints. We have provided in this volume the text of a lecture in which Fr. Rozycki beautifully summarized his research on the life and witness of St. Faustina. The last portion of this collection was written by the Rev. Seraphim Michalenko, MIC, who has spent much of his priest- hood researching and propagating St. Faustina’s message of mercy. Fr. Michalenko served as one of the principal translators into English of St. Faustina’s Diary, as vice-Postulator of the cause for her canonization, as Rector of the US National Shrine of The Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, and as founding Director of the John Paul II Institute of Divine Mercy. In this volume Fr. Seraphim offers us a glimpse of the essence of St. Faustina’s Way to holiness — a Way which divine grace began preparing for her from her earliest days as a devout little child of a devout Catholic family in the Polish countryside.
