The John Paul II Institute o f Divine Mercy, an apostolate o f the Congregation o f Marians o f the Immaculate Conception, is based on Eden Hill in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, alongside the National Shrine o f The Divine Mercy. It received a personal blessing from His Holiness Pope John Paul II on April 29, 1996, with the permission to bear his name in its title. II. The Institute seeks to promote research, teaching, training, and for mation in, as well as dissemination of, the Divine Mercy message and devotion. In particular, it seeks to affirm theologically, and to witness in practice, Divine Mercy as the Heart o f the Gospel, and to spread the Divine Mercy message and devotion as it is found in Scripture, Sacred Tradition, and the life and writings o f Blessed Faustina Kowalska, “the great apostle o f Divine Mercy in our time.” III. The Institute seeks to achieve these goals in three ways: A. by researching and studying the doctrine o f the Divine Mercy; B. by promoting knowledge about the Divine Mercy message and devotion as revealed to the Church through Blessed Faustina; and C. by fostering the spirituality which flows from the Divine Mercy message.
