Broglio, JCD Archbishop of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio was born in 1951 in Cleveland Heights, Ohio. He earned a bachelor of arts in classics at Boston College, an STB in theology, and a doctorate in canon law from the Pontifical Gregorian University, Rome. In 1977 he was ordained to the priesthood in Rome for the diocese of Cleveland. The Archbishop served as Secretary of the Apostolic Nunciature in Ivory Coast and in Paraguay, Chief of Cabinet to Cardinal Sodano, Secretary of State to Pope St. John Paul II, and desk officer for Central America. In 2001, he was named Apostolic Nuncio to the Dominican Republic and Apostolic Delegate to Puerto Rico, and was ordained as an Archbishop by St. John Paul. In 2008 Archbishop Broglio was installed as the fourth Archbishop for the Military Services USA. Archbishop Broglio has served on multiple committees as a member of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops and currently serves as President of the Conference (2022 – 2025).
