Divine Mercy Weekend Program 2024

Dear Pilgrims, On behalf of the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception, welcome to the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy. We are honored to have as our main celebrant on Sunday the Most Reverend Timothy P. Broglio, JCD, Archbishop of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA, and current president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). In the midst of all the tribulations our world faces, we continue to joyfully place our hope in the Risen Christ who was sent by our Heavenly Father to conquer sin and death. We have deserved nothing but the ill effects of our sins, and yet our Merciful Father who created us has not forgotten us even when we turned away from Him. “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.” Jesus, the Divine Mercy, shows us the face of our Father in Heaven, who gives us, His beloved children, all we need, including forgiveness and peace. May we never fail to trust in Him! While our earthly fathers are not always perfect images of our Heavenly Father, we are grateful for the times they have imitated Jesus, the Son of God, who is the perfect image of the Father. During this year’s celebration under the theme of Spiritual Fatherhood, we pray for all Christian men to rise up to their calling to give of themselves for others. May St. Joseph intercede especially for fathers to imitate Christ in their duty as the spiritual leader of their home — their “domestic church” — leading, nourishing, and protecting their children on their journey to their true home in Heaven. We hope you have a peaceful encounter with your merciful Father today, especially when He sends His Son in Holy Communion to rest in your hearts. In Jesus and Mary Immaculate, Fr.
