Charlene

reviewed every detail of the

entire process from the

initial drawings to the final

creation of the sculptures.

They enlisted help from their

granddaughter LaurenMiller,

who modified the graphic images for Timothy according to their

recommendations on facial expressions, gestures, and the position-

ing of the figures. For example, when it was time to develop the

Eighth Station: Jesus Meets theWomen of Jerusalem, Lauren used

her cousin as a model for the baby in the arms of her mother.

When the statues were delivered to Eden Hill, Tom oversaw

the exact placement of each figure.

Charlene says, “When we viewed the Stations for the first

time, we were moved beyond words.When we hear from others

who visit the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy and view the

Stations, of howmoved they are by the sculptures, we are overcome

with love for our Lord and His unimaginable love for all of us.

“We are so grateful that so many souls are touched by God’s

love for us and will be for all time,” she says. “We never dreamed

this project would be possible. It is only by the grace of God. Tom

and I and our family are forever thankful. Little did we know

when we started this project three years ago that it would near

completion at the end of Tom’s earthly life.”

Tomwas called home to the Lord on October 5, 2012, the feast

of St. Faustina, the great Apostle of DivineMercy. Part of his legacy

is theWay of the Cross at the National Shrine of The DivineMercy,

which will be a tremendous source of graces for generations of

pilgrims who come and meditate on the Lord’s Passion.
