EADM Fall-Winter 20

3 Our second cenacle was formed at Mass on June 23, 2018. Inductees to this group include Brian Cheshire, Dana Hill, Anna Huebel, Laura LeBlanc, Steve Scott, Mary Helen Sini, Mary Ann Villano, and Georgia Ann Williams. Most of these Apostles have been diligent in their studies and have now completed forma- tion manuals two and three and will continue in an advanced study group with our original cenacle to discuss a variety of books by the Marian Fathers, including Purest of All Lilies and Consecration to St. Joseph by Fr. Donald Calloway, MIC, and more. Our third cenacle was formed at Mass on Aug. 4, 2019, in a lovely celebra- tion led by Msrg. Louis Pavlicek. Members of this group include Eva Almanza, Michelle Burr, Lynnette Davis, Maria “Angie” De La Rosa, Marguerite “Marge” Hanna, Charlotte Lacombe, Lily Metcalfe, and Theresa Sismilich. On Sunday, June 28, 2020, we inducted 10 into our Eucharistic Apostles of Divine Mercy Cenacle. Congratulations to the following new inductees: Fabian Alvarado, Mary T. Carter, Maria “Tonia” Gentry, Clark Johnson, Jeanne Karch, Catherine Lee, Cameron Meeker, Stephen Todd, Earnest Valle, and Genoveva Zamarron. We appreciate our pastor Fr. Dean Wilhelm’s support and leadership through the induction ceremony at the Sunday evening Mass. Most of our first cenacle group has completed all three formation manuals together as a group, and the study of Mary: Who She Is and Why She Matters by Dr. Robert Stackpole was completed with group discussions for the bulk of the chapters and then individual study for the final chapters. Over the years this group has seen a couple of members move out of state, and we’re so pleased that we’ve been reunited with them through the use of Zoom. Inspired by the success of gathering via Zoom, we started a fifth cenacle on Monday, Aug. 3, delving into the lessons of formation manual number one using the Zoom platform. We held our 2020 Divine Mercy Novena and Divine Mercy Sunday Holy ROUND ROCK, T exas Carol Troy wrote and told us: The EADM office asks that each cenacle visit TheDivineMercy.org/eadm to make sure your cenacle is registered and that the information is correct. If it is not, please call us toll free at 1-877-380-0727 or email us at [email protected] The Divine Mercy Cenacle here in Santiago, Dominican Republic, has been in existence for about two years. It was introduced and proposed by two of our Corpus Christi Church members, Alexandra Querin and myself. At one of the Sunday Masses at that time, we invited everyone to a meeting with the inten- tion to begin this interesting way to reunite people, support them spiritually, and guide them to do works of mercy. We have such a great, wonderful, and spiritually supportive group. All are grateful for our meetings. We all feel like an extraordinarily strong brother- hood, studying the Sacred Scripture, the Catechism of the Catholic Church, and the writings of St. Faustina. The meetings keep our heart yearning for more as we strive to do God’s will. As humble believers, we would like to continue praying, following the guide books from the Eucharistic Apostles of The Divine Mercy. We know it will help us strengthen our faith. We celebrate the Feast of Divine Mercy, and on that day, we also have exposition of the Blessed Sacrament. We had stopped the meetings since the pandemic, although now we are planning to continue them virtually. Lastly, I would like to share a testimony of one of our members, Maryeling Arzeno: My experience in this group of the Divine Mercy Cenacle has been a great blessing. My parents pray the Chaplet together with me every day at 3 p.m., and the Lord granted me a great miracle during this pandemic. My parents were infected with COVID-19 without their knowing it. Thanks be to God and to my faith, I persevered in prayer, and my parents did not feel any symptoms. At the beginning of this pandemic, that was one of my great fears, and now I really see the strength of prayer and faith in God. Even though many trials come, the Lord will never allow us to fall. In times of danger, He is always there. Faith moves mountains and the one who walks with God will never fail. SANTO DOMINGO, D ominican R epublic Pedro Tapia wrote and told us: Hour via Zoom. With 15 to 20 attending most nights of the Novena and 30 joining us for the Divine Mercy Sunday celebration, we were encouraged to continue our prayers together using that platform. Many feel the need to join together to pray for an end to the pandemic and all the turmoil and unrest across our nation and the whole world. As such, we have Zoom prayer sessions on three to four evenings during the week. The photo above is one of our cenacles using Zoom. The members enjoy it, and I encourage others to try it. However, later in the week, we connected with these folks. We are living proof that one can begin a cenacle without being perfect. For the informational meeting, we followed the suggestions given in the booklet. We showed the video “I Am a Voice Crying for Mercy.” As Fr. Tom commented, that video appears to have been made after 9/11, but we could easily insert “after COVID-19.” The Divine Mercy message is truly needed in our hurting world today! Our group meets Mondays at 8:30 p.m. after Eucharistic Adoration. We are excited to see what God has in store for us, to promote Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament, to pray for the sick and dying, and to perform works of mercy. Please pray for us!
