As we close out the 65th anniversary year of the dedication of the Shrine Chapel in 1960, here’s a look back at a nifty Christmas gift from the 1950s. “Build a Shrine” was a colorful one-sided flat card, in English and Polish. The instructions were clear: “Cut and fold as indicated along dotted lines.” The result, as shown above, was a mini stand-up “shrine” to display at home, offering the Hyla Image of Jesus, the Divine Mercy, or a traditional Nativity scene — and unlimited devotional opportunities. Don’t forget to order your Christmas cards from the Marian Fathers, as displayed in this edition of Marian Helper and on ShopMercy.org. Blessed Advent and Merry Christmas!
