Marian Helper Winter 2012-2013

Father Joseph, MIC, is pleased to announce a new initiative in collaboration with Divine Mercy Art. This initiative involves the ambitious goal of getting a Divine Mercy image into every home and every church for the Year of Faith. The images offered include versions of the image of Divine Mercy and Mary Immaculate, all beautifully reproduced on canvas at affordable prices, in various sizes, and with different framing options. For more information, go to www.divinemercyart.com. Hyla This rendering was made in 1943 by artist Adolf Hyla, who donated it to St. Faustina’s convent in Thanksgiving for his family’s preservation during World War II. CHYLA Vilnius This original version was painted by art professor Eugene Kazimirowski under the supervision of St. Faustina and her confessor, Blessed Michael Sopocko, in Vilnius. It was completed in 1934 and underwent a restoration in 2011. CVILN Skemp This popular rendition was commissioned in the 1970s from American artist Robert O. Skemp. In it, unlike previous images, the rays of mercy extend more directly toward the viewer. CSKMP Immaculate Conception Artist Francesco Smuglewicz depicts the beautiful Virgin, crowned with stars and attended by angels. Under her foot, she crushes a serpent, choking on the apple, as a reference to Genesis 3:15. CIMAC Divine Mercy Art “I promise that the soul that will venerate this image will not perish. I also promise victory over its enemies already here on earth, especially at the hour of death. I Myself will defend it as My own glory.” To order: www.divinemercyart.com Our Lord’s words to St. Faustina. ( Diary , 48)
