First Vows Vocations to the Marian Fathers are thriving, thanks to your prayers and generosity! On March 30, 2025, Br. Austin, MIC, took his first vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience in the chapel of the Franciscan Sisters of Penance of the Sorrowful Mother in Toronto, Ohio, presided over by the Provincial Superior, the Very Rev. Chris Alar, MIC. Brother Austin, 24, entered the Marians in 2023. His immediate family, Marian priests and brothers, and a large circle of friends were present to see him receive the white habit, a first for the U.S. province, which has decided that the white habit would now be bestowed at first vows, not final vows. The white habit, worn by the Marian Founder, St. Stanislaus Papczyński (1631-1701), is an external sign of religious consecration and a witness to the world of the Immaculate Conception.
