I am convinced that the key to everything is the Immaculate Conception.” So said the Very Rev. Chris Alar, MIC (above) during his presentation at the International Conference of the Association of Marian Helpers, held at Marian Fathers’ Retreat House in Sulejówek, Poland, April 21-26. Marians and lay co-workers gathered from all over the world to share news and best practices. Attendees heard presentations from Poland, Great Britain, Brazil, Ukraine, Latvia, Portugal, the Philippines, and Belarus. A special conference was also held at Cardinal Stefan Wyszyński University marking the 25th anniversary of the Marian Fathers’ mission in Cameroon. Father Pawel Ostrovski, MIC, shar ed heartfelt stories of his service as a military chaplain on the front lines in Ukraine. God is always present, he said. “I saw a little girl talking to an o ffi cer, and called him ‘Father ,’” he recalled. “And he called her ‘my angel .’ I asked if they are related. And this o ffi cer said, ‘No. She ’s not my daughter, but I’m taking care of her .’ And he added, ‘My own chidl is serving somewhere. And I hopesomebody will take care of him as I am of this little girl .’” Father expressed his gratitude for donations and prayers. “Thank you for understanding that we are walking together along the road to victory .” Read more about Fr. Pawel on TheDivineMercy.org. Following Mass at the Shrine of St. Stanislaus Papczyński in Marianki-Góra Kalwaria, Fr. Paweł Naumowicz, MIC, rector, blessed the Most Rev. Joseph Roesch, MIC, superior general, with the relic of St. Stanislaus. “The Lord is always doing something new within us,” Fr. Roesch said. “It’s beautiful to see how our charism in every culture is flourishing and bearing fruit, even in the midst of very trying situations.”
