D ivine M ercy M atters P repare for D ivine M ercy S unday Visit DivineMercyMatters.org discover what mercy is and why it matters Now also available in Spanish: dmesi.org A t the N ational S hrine T he Marian Fathers at the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy in Stockbridge, Massachusetts, expect more than 20,000 people to attend the annual Divine Mercy Weekend celebration on April 7-8. Archbishop Joseph E. Kurtz of Louisville, Kentucky, former president of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, will be the celebrant for the Liturgy at 1 p.m. on Divine Mercy Sunday. Both the Sunday Liturgy and the Vigil Mass at 4 p.m. on Saturday will be celebrated on Eden Hill at the Mother of Mercy Outdoor Shrine. On Saturday morning, the Marian Fathers will host the annual Mercy Weekend Conference. The speakers will include Fr. Chris Alar, MIC, and a special guest: the Irish singer Dana, who will perform and give her witness. Check-in begins at 9 a.m. The conference will run from 10 a.m. to noon. General admission is $15 (bag lunch included). Admission is free for members of the Thirteenth of the Month Club, Friends of Mercy, and th e Holy Souls Sodality. Since Divine Mercy Sunday falls earlier than usual this year, pilgrims are advised to dress in layers and wear comfortable shoes with traction.
