Journalists from all across the United States are guests of 20th Century Fox Film Corporation. Fox is hoping that the stories we will write and/or televise about their three “roadshow” movies, all in production in Europe, will dispose of rumors that the company is no longer a thriving movie enterprise, despite its near-bankruptcy due to cost overrun from the film “Cleopatra.” The movies we will report about are “The Sound of Music,” filming in Salzburg, Austria; “The Agony and the Ecstasy,” filming in Italy; and “Those Magnificent Men in Their Flying Machines,” in production in London. We will interview the stars, the producers, and the directors, and visit the movie sets for a rare inside view of filmdom in action. I am barely out of college, a TV news reporter working for WISN-TV. It is my first job after graduation. I am still learning the trade, still guessing as to the proper location of the who, what, where, how, and why of a story. On my own When I am sent on assignment, I amalways accompanied By Peggy Stanton New From Marian Press 20th Century Fox, Public domain, via Wikimedia Commons Christopher Plummer (Captain von Trapp) and Julie Andrews (Maria) on the set of “The Sound of Music.”
