Marian Helper Fall 2022

Marian Helper • Fall 2022 • Marian.org 11 ¡Encuentro! The August heat wave did not deter more than 50 buses with thousands of pilgrims from journeying to the National Shrine of The Divine Mercy on Aug. 6 for “Encuentro Latino 2022,” a day of celebration dedicated to the Latino community. What made the event even more special was its joyous return after a hiatus of two years due to the pandemic. Father José Siesquen Flores (below) was the principal celebrant of Mass at the Mother of Mercy Outdoor Shrine. The day included music, dancing, a Rosary procession, catechetical talks, opportunity for Confession, and the Chaplet of Divine Mercy, as well as time for food and fellowship, and sharing the healing message of Divine Mercy. “I come here with a lot of things on my heart,” said one pilgrim from New Jersey, “but God is here and is telling me it’s going to be okay.” On Eden Hill
