Sekowski to Pius X for approval of new constitutions Mariampole, August 7, 1910 Holy Father, In May of this year, through our brother Jerzy Matulewicz, Professor of the Theological Academy in St. Petersburg, whom I authorized to handle the affairs of our Institute, we sent to the Holy See certain doc- uments concerning our Institute, namely: letters of recommendations from local Ordinaries, a short report on the history and condition of the Institute of Marian Brothers of the Immaculate Conception of the Most Holy Virgin Mary, as well as the statutes of said Institute which we have composed in accordance with the Response of the Holy Congregation of the Religious, taking into account the new conditions of life to which we are subject in our work and the most recent regula- tions of the Church. 1 Herewith we are sending one more requested document, namely the law of Ten Virtues of the Most Holy Virgin Mary , in accordance with which life has been conducted in our Institute. We are also sending the old constitutions. At the same time, falling to the feet of Your Holiness, Holy Father, I humbly implore that you deign to recognize again this Institute of ours which has been abolished by State laws but is presently revived amidst so many difficulties; and that you benevolently approve for 10 years our new statutes which we have sent.
