MARIANS IN 1670-1788 104 dioceses of Poznań, Kraków, and Chełm. He extended his apostolate of proclaiming the Word of God to Lewiczyn, Góra, Warsaw, and the entire Duchy of Mazovia, where he was regarded as the spiritual director.151 The bishop of Poznań [Stefan Wierzbowski] appointed him his delegate to conduct visitations and organize parish missions as well as the visitator of the entire vast Warsaw Archdeaconate, which had at that time 138 parishes. […] How many benefits were brought by the missions carried out jointly with Father A. Gołkowski, how much work undertaken, how many hatreds were averted, it is known only to God Himself.”152 Witnesses in the beatification process testified that, while staying at the Cenacle, Fr. Stanislaus tirelessly proclaimed the Word of God either there or in other churches. He also heard confessions diligently. He traveled on foot to proclaim God’s truths in other towns, including Wiskitki, Mszczonów, Stara Rawa, Czersk, Jerusalem, Chojnata, Studzianna, Jasieniec, Lewiczyn, Góra, Warsaw, and some other parishes farther away.153 His work was not limited to delivering sermons and hearing confessions alone. He sought to strengthen the faith that had been ignited with fervent words, contributing to the organization of communal life in parishes. This was achieved by establishing Marian Confraternities and the Confraternity of St. Isidore in several of them. He also obtained appropriate indulgences for these confraternities from the Holy See.154 In Jasieniec, he fervently encouraged the faithful to be generous and set an example with a substantial donation for the construction of the local church. Although he lived a humble and ascetic life, wherever he encountered human suffering, he provided alms to the poor and cared for orphans.
