May 10, 1666, 262 are kept in the general archives of the Piarist Fa- thers in Rome. It may be presumed that Fr. Papczynski procured all of these letters in response to Fr. Caputi’s 263 expectations. As Fr. Ca- puti registered the arrival of the particular letters from Poland in his diary, he made a notation on some of the entries that the particular letter was accompanied by a letter from Fr. Stanislaus. 264 We have a letter at our disposal written by Fr. Papczynski to Pos- tulator Caputi on January 16, 1666, which is a direct proof of the fact that Fr. Papczynski was sending letters in support of the beatifi- cation cause of Fr. Joseph Calasantius, which he had obtained from important personages of the Kingdom of Poland. The aforemen- tioned letter survived because a large part of it was a copy of one of the letters in support of the beatification cause. 265 NOTES 1. B.
