FOREWORD Who was that saintly religious…? Sometimes Fr. Casimir Wyszyƒski was dubbed a “pilgrim.” In 1710, When Casimir Wyszyƒski was only 10 years old, without the knowledge of his parents, he set out for Rome. He managed to cover several dozen kilometers before his brother caught up with him and brought him back home. In his youth, he probably traveled to church fairs in the area around his native town in Mazovia. When he was 21, he pledged to make a pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela in Spain, one of the most famous sites near the Cape Finisterre, the last point of pilgrimage along St. James’s Trail — in antiquity believed to be the end of the earth. He did not complete this pilgrimage because of an illness; he was obliged by the ecclesiastical authorities to visit Roman shrines instead. While in Rome, he received God’s gift of a vocation to the Marian Order. For three winter months, he traveled back to Poland to bid farewell to his dying mother and to place himself under the care of Mary Immaculate in the Marian Order. 5

For 30 years he served God and people under the banner of Mary. He entrusted to her all the difficult matters of the Order, which he served several times as General Superior, and made pilgrimages to various shrines in Poland, most frequently visiting Jasna Góra in Czestochowa. Being in Rome on his Order’s business, he often went to Loreto in search of God’s enlightenment and help. He took along on his trip to Portugal a candle from Loreto so that its light would remain with him at the hour of his death in 1755. Death found him in Balsamão, Portugal, which is not too far from Cape Finisterre. He knew that he was reaching the end of his earthly travels and was about to meet God beyond. He died in the opinion of holiness. Soon after, the Church process for his beatification was opened. The humble and faithful life of Fr. Casimir of St. Joseph Wyszyƒski from the Congregation of Marian Fathers inspired and roused the admiration of his contemporaries — and so it continues to this day. The reading of Fr. Casimir’s biography evokes in many people such a strong sense of closeness to him that they feel ready to entrust their concerns to his intercession before God, rightly expecting his help. 6 V         S       G F  . Here, we find a collection of various accounts presented by the very kind of people who regarded Venerable Casimir Wyszyƒski as a very close and compassionate person. With disarming trust they sought his aid, and now they tell us in sincere accounts that they were not disappointed. Signs and events described in these accounts testify that faith, prayer and hope allow us to cross over the material order of causality and open ourselves to a different dimension, known as transcendence, or more simply: the supernatural dimension. Delivering to our readers this small collection accounting graces received through the intercession of Venerable Fr. Casimir, we hope that they may encourage us to seek spiritual and physical support, to commend in deep trust all our troubles and heavy crosses of daily life to this saintly Polish religious and that our trust in his intercession before God shall not be in vain. Casimir Wyszyƒski. My daughter, age 38, had to undergo surgery for a life-threatening ulcer in her throat. Since she was losing weight at an alarming rate, the doctors believed she would not survive. Her weight went down to 100 pounds. Meanwhile, I was reciting the novena to Fr. Casimir, asking for his help. The surgery took place in October, and it was a success — “against all odds,” as the surgeon said. Two weeks later, my daughter was back home, and she was immediately able to resume taking care of her family. She feels very well. I give thanks to Fr. Casimir for this wonderful grace, and I will offer a Holy Mass for his beatification. — Jadwiga, Poland The following four testimonies were collected by the Marian priests and brothers from Portugal:

10 A newborn is healed There was a healing of a child in France. The little boy was born with orangecolored skin. The doctors’ prognosis was that the baby had only hours to live. Blood work was ordered at once, and the newborn was transported to another clinic. Meanwhile, his mother prayed to the Venerable Servant of God Fr. Casimir for help. Some four hours later, the doctor pronounced him suddenly healed. They allegedly said it was a miracle. The child presently stays with his grandmother. I personally saw him and testify that he looks like the picture of perfect health. Sight for sore eyes A widow came to the tomb of Venerable Servant of God Fr. Casimir Wyszyƒski to give thanks for the miracle performed by the Lord God through Fr. Casimir’s intercession. The woman had leukoma in one eye and was afraid she would soon lose sight in the other as well. Therefore, she prayed to Fr. Casimir, pledging — should she regain her eyesight in the next five days — to proclaim it publicly. One afternoon during that period, she began to see things better. She was preparing for death A married couple came to make an offering at Fr. Casimir’s tomb in thanksgiving for the grace of accepting God’s will that was granted to the wife. She was suffering from malarial bronchitis and was near death. She came to receive the Sacraments. Meanwhile, as her husband prayed for Fr. Casimir’s help — promising to offer a Holy Mass for his beatification and tomake a barefoot pilgrimage to his tomb if she were to be healed— the wife opened her eyes and felt her health markedly improve. Now she is feeling well. A child’s suffering alleviated A man came to give thanks for the grace granted by God through Fr. Casimir’s intercession to a young child. This child had misshapen arms and was unable to hold up his head. The man reports that soon after he prayed to Fr. Casimir asking that the child be healed, the child was able to straighten his neck and hold up his head, which was regarded as a miracle.

12 Only help would be a Holy Mass When my sister’s daughter, Karolina, was 5 months old, she became ill. She was taken to the doctors in Grójec and Warka, in Poland, who suspected heart disease. Then her mother took Karolina to the Children’s Healthcare Center in Miedzylesie, where she was hospitalized and placed under oxygen, because during a blood draw, she experienced circulatory collapse. Karolina was resuscitated but remained unconscious for several days. At that point, Karolina was diagnosed with a heart defect. She spent about a month at the hospital after experiencing a second collapse. She was resuscitated again and got well enough to go back home. However, the doctors said the only help we could give her would be to offer a Holy Mass. When Karolina fell ill, we started to pray for her health through the intercession of the Servant of God Casimir Wyszyƒski, using a novena pamphlet. We all prayed daily. We also had Holy Masses celebrated to implore the intercession of the Servant of God. We have all observed a noticeable improvement of Karolina’s health, which we believe is thanks to the intercession of V         S       G F  . C      W       

She now must take heart medication, but she is healthy and developing properly. — Maria, Poland ‘ e pain vanished’ After a work-related accident, I had my right kidney removed. The surgery left me in poor health. It took me approximately five months to recover. Following my recovery, I felt considerable pain in my left kidney. The pain was similar to what I had previously felt in my right kidney before surgery. I went to see a doctor, who prescribed medication. The medicine did not bring any relief; instead, the pain intensified. At that time, I received a Venerable Casimir Wyszyƒski prayer card. I decided to celebrate a novena and asked the Servant of God for his intercession. On the morning of the ninth day, the pain was just as acute as before, but about midday, the pain vanished. I believe that my pain went away thanks to the intercession of the Servant of God Casimir Wyszyƒski. — Ferdynand, Great Britain

14 Wife recovers After having miscarried a 2-month-old fetus, my wife was hemorrhaging for three weeks, which left her in a weakened state. Further, she had to undergo surgery for cancer removal. Her condition was life threatening. We had a Mass celebrated for the intention of the beatification of the Servant of God Casimir Wyszyƒski, also asking for his intercession for my wife’s health. My wife came home in April, and now she feels totally fine. For this grace, I want to give thanks to the Servant of God Fr. Casimir Wyszyƒski. — Josef, Poland Father Casimir to the rescue When friends requested help in prayer, Fr. Casimir came to the rescue. He has become the guy to go to when we need miracles fast. First there was Jude, a 16-year-old boy born with a severe bone malformation in his chest cavity. The only hope to alleviate the pain was to surrender to a five-hour-long surgery. We prayed to Fr. She had endured four complicated surgical procedures on her spine within three months to correct injuries from an automobile accident. But Kelleigh still needed another surgery to correct a bone pressing on a nerve. Payment for this surgery meant emergency certification through her insurance company for an additional $15,000. When the certification didn’t come through in time, Kelleigh had to borrow against her home equity to pay for the surgery. Again, appealing to Fr. Casimir for his intercession, within days her insurance company refunded her the entire $15,000. Though still recuperating, Kelleigh is doing well and is actively back to her work as a dedicated journalist. — SF, Worthington, Massachusetts Son turns away from sin I am writing to thank Venerable Servant of God Fr. Casimir Wyszyƒski for turning around my son’s life. My son was involved with the wrong crowd and was leading a life of sin. I prayed to Fr. Casimir to intercede with God for my son. I asked that the Lord would

16 instill in my son the character to be a good young man and strong enough to deny the lifestyle. And my son did just that! He even entered into a nice relationship with a good girl. But then he didn’t want to marry this girl, so again I prayed to Fr. Casimir. I asked him to help my son gain the wisdom of the Holy Spirit and marry his girlfriend. Again, Fr. Casimir answered my prayers right away. My son had a change of heart and married his girlfriend. They now have a wonderful family. I have Fr. Casimir to thank for my son being the man he is today. — JC, Hopewell, New Jersey Wife avoids major surgery I would like to share two graces received through the intercession of the Venerable Fr. Casimir Wyszyƒski. First, my wife of 54 years suffered a heart attack. She was rushed to the hospital and spent six days there. Again, I turned to Fr. Casimir. Three weeks later, we got the good news that he finally found a job. He was only able to get a job landscaping for four days a week and was making about $200 a week. I prayed to Venerable Casimir to intercede and help him get a better job. Family members prayed to Fr. Casimir Wyszyƒski for his intercession in this matter during the celebration of the novena and Holy Mass for his beatification. Soon the two families reconciled, and the feud was forgotten. Son recovers from serious illness A woman who lived nearby came to tell us about her son. He was a veterinarian and worked for state-owned farms in the north of the country. He had contracted a disease from the animals. He was sent for treatment to Lublin.

20 His mother, fearing for his life, offered a Holy Mass for the beatification of Fr. Casimir Wyszyƒski and for the healing of her son. Sometime later, she received the news that her son was doing better and had left the hospital. The woman attributed this grace to the intercession of Fr. Casimir. Niece regains consciousness A woman from the nearby town came to our chapel, wishing to offer a Holy Mass for the intention of her 20-year-old niece. Her niece had overdosed on some strong medicine and lost consciousness. After a month, she still had not regained consciousness and was on artificial nutrition. Before going to see her niece, thewoman attended Holy Mass for the beatification of Fr. Casimir Wyszyƒski and the healing of her niece. He also worked another grace for our son, who had been sad and seemed depressed. He wasn’t interested in anything, and he hardly smiled anymore. We found out he was being bullied in school. My husband and I also realized that we were being too hard on him. The bullying minimized, and we began to show him more love. He’s a happy boy now. I believe it was through the intercession of Fr. Casimir, because it all happened shortly after I began praying for his intercession. — LK, email Several graces for grandson I came across “Graces Received” in Marian Helper, which told of graces received from Fr. Casimir. Daily, I started requesting his intercession on behalf of my grandson, as I had number of concerns laying on my heart. One of these was, if it be God’s will, that my grandson would end his engagement with his fiancée, given the many red flags surrounding their relationship.

24 Another, that hospital bills, incurred following my grandson’s accidental injuries, be waived. He had no insurance, was in no way responsible, and was laid off from his job at the time. I amhappy to share that the engagement has ended, and one of the two hospitals waived the cost. I am grateful to Fr. Casimir as I believe his intercession was instrumental in these answered prayers. I continue to ask for Fr. Casimir’s intercession on behalf of other aspects of my grandson’s life. — KP, St. Maries, Idaho Son starts new career When I received your Fall 2017 Marian Helper, I read with interest the “Graces Received” article about graces received through Venerable Casimir. I have continually prayed to Venerable Casimir to intercede for Nick. I specifically asked for someone strong to guide him so he would turn his life around. About a month ago, Nick asked me to call him. He told me that he was given a choice by the judge to go back to prison or enter a program. She was suffering from an addiction to alcohol and maybe drugs, was unemployed, and had lost her faith. When I received the Marian Helper with the article on “Graces Received” through the intercession of the Venerable Servant of God Casimir Wyszyƒski, I began my daily prayers for his intercession. I am so very pleased to share that, unbeknownst to us, on Ash Wednesday she began her healing! She did not know we were praying, and we did not know she had taken her last drink, but I can say with joy she is sober, has found a job, and is seeking God. I will continue to pray these prayers as they have led to such a profound healing for

34 my precious granddaughter, and I am so very thankful for all of the graces received. — JM, Tacoma, Washington Two graces received I want to inform you of two graces I received through the intercession of the Venerable Servant of God Casimir Wyszyƒski. The first was for a young man who was suffering from cancer. We prayed to Fr. Casimir for him to be accepted into a new treatment program. Thankfully, he was accepted and is now in remission. He is doing well. The second grace was for my son who has been out of work for a long time. I prayed to Fr. Casimir, and a couple days later, he found work. I thank Fr. Casimir for his intercession with all my heart. — MR, St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada Son gets into PhD program I wanted to share with you a special grace that my son received through the V         S       G F  . My son had been applying to several universities for a graduate school position to get a PhD in physics. He had not been successful for months. I had been praying for God’s divine will in this matter and through the intercession of Venerable Servant of God Casimir Wyszyƒski. Just a few weeks before his college graduation, he was notified that he was accepted to one of the universities of his choice with a full scholarship. Thank you, Blessed Lord, and Venerable Servant of God Casimir Wyszyƒski! — RMS, North Royalton, Ohio ‘God led me to read this magazine’ During the pandemic I was looking for comfort and peace. Like many others, I was getting very depressed and full of anxiety. I read the Summer issue of Marian Helper from front to back and was especially drawn to the accounts of “Graces Received” through the intercession of Venerable Casimir. My son was laid off from his job due to the pandemic and was not sure he would be returning to work. After I prayed to

36 Venerable Casimir, not only did my son receive other calls for employment, but he was called back to his old job. I am most grateful and will continue to pray to Venerable Casimir regarding a move to be near my daughter and granddaughter. I truly believe God led me to read this magazine. I felt more relaxed and at peace after doing so. Thank you with all my heart. — KB, email Grandson had tumor in spine Every night I say the prayer for a special grace through the intercession of the Venerable Servant of God Casimir Wyszyƒski for my grandson. InAugust 2019,my 10-year-old grandson was falling and having leg weakness. An MRI showed a benign tumor on his spine. He had surgery, and the tumor was removed. He spent five weeks in the hospital and has since returned to being a healthy child. That is the good news. The bad news is that he was diagnosed with NF2, a condition in which his tumor suppression gene does not work. He gets MRIs every six to nine months to check for tumors growing in his nervous system. Although he was drained of selfconfidence, my husband and I convinced him not to give up hope for an interview from the final round of job applications. It was about that time that I received the winter edition of Marian Helper and read about favors received through the intercession of Venerable Casimir Wyszyƒski. I began to pray to Venerable Casimir that my son would have some sort of success in his life. I prayed that something would go his way in hope of increasing his self-confidence. Within a week and a half of praying to Venerable Casimir, my son received a phone call for an interview. Two days later, he received another call from a different company. He was soon offered a position in both companies.

38 We are so grateful that Fr. Casimir was not only helpful in obtaining an offer from one company, but also helped increase my son’s confidence by helping him be sought by two companies. — A.G., Springfield, Illinois Tumor hasn’t grown in years I am writing to you today as I have been asking Venerable Casimir Wyszyƒski to intercede for me.
